Human Georgraphy 101 A message to Garcia 9-6-19

A message to Garcia was published in 1899. It got reprinted as a pamphlet, and as a book because it was so popular. There were over 40 million copies sold. It was written in 37 different languages for everyone to read. There were two movies made out of it. "Take a message to Garcia" is a special quote that is still used in the military meaning to take initiative. Garcia was a revolutionary seeking Cuban independence from Spain. Rowan was an army office, from West Point class of 1881 who took initiative. McKinley was the 25th president from 1897-1891, he was reelected for a second term, but got assassinated 6 months in by an anarchist. The tallest mountain in North America was named after him till 2015.
