Early dismissal

Today we had class last mod and I had to leave early because of my stomach so I was going to see a doctor. So I missed class and I looked on your blog but there is nothing on it yet from today so I don't know what to write about.

Population Pyramids

Today in class we went over the video that we watched yesterday. When I watched that video I was kind of confused and I heard that some other people were too. I was just not understanding and I didn't think they did a good job of explaining. But today when we went over it in class, I understood it more than yesterday. I now understand that if the bar is wider at the bottom then there is a bigger population of younger people around ages from 0 to 14. And if the line is wider at the top, than there is more of a population in the older people in the population. And over time this pyramid can change. And there can be more people going from younger to older which would make the line wider at the top and it would make it thinner at the bottom. So the graphs don't stay the same, they will always change because the population is always changing.

Going over test from 10-25-19

On Friday we took a test on a bunch of the information over the last couple of weeks. I felt really comfortable before taking the test and then when I took it I thought I got an A or at least a high B. When I got my test back, I saw that I got an 89 percent out of 100. If I am being honest I was hoping that I was going to get a higher grade. That sounds greedy but that is actually what I was thinking. After I took the test, there was one or two questions that I was pretty sure that I got wrong. And it turns out I was right, I got both of them wrong, and its kind of annoying how on the back there was a question that I got wrong and I knew the right answer. It was the first bonus question, and the answer was zero, but for some reason I thought it was going to be 3.5 because I thought I heard that somewhere. The first 12 questions that were about me going around the CIA website and finding the information was probably the easiest section on a test that I have aver completed. I knew I go

Test day

Today we took the test about all the information that we have been going over in class for the last couple of weeks. When we went over it in class I was making sure that I took good notes because I needed to get a good score on this test to make sure my grade is a good grade. So I have had really good notes for the past couple of days that I was studying over the last two nights and during my off mod this morning. When I saw the first page of the test I didn't think it was going to take to long to find the information on the CIA website that I felt pretty comfortable with. And it turns out that I was right and it only took me around 9 to 10 minutes. I think that I got most if not all of them right in that section but of course I don't know for sure because I haven't gotten my grade back yet. The second page is where it gave me all the fill in the blank questions about total fertility rate, net migration rate, and all that. This part I felt mostly comfortable with too b

Going over what will be on the test

Today in class we went over what kind of information will be on the test. I had notes before we went over it today, but since we were more specific about what will actually be on it, I was able to add to my notes and make them a little bit more accurate than before. Some of the information that is going to be on the test is: - Crude birth rate and Crude death rate which is the number of births per 100 people and the number of deaths per 1000 people. They get all of this info per 1000 people so that all the info is accurate and even. That way it doesn't matter how big or small your population is and all the information you need to figure out is all equal. -RNI which is the rate of natural increase. You find the rate of natural increase by subtracting the amount of deaths per 1000 people from the amount of births per 1000 people. The answer you get is the natural growth rate in that country or region. -Net Migration Rate which is the difference between the number of persons enteri

Going over CIA website questions

Today in class we went over the CIA questions that we did on Monday and I was getting most of the questions right. I thought I was going to because when we did it on Monday I felt pretty comfortable getting around the site, and finding all the information that I needed to. I like how instead of just going over each of the questions and not really thinking about the answers, we actually took time to go more in depth and discuss how fascinating some of the facts are. And how some countries are almost opposite from others. I also learned some new information, like how there is a country that only has 52 people so if we went we could actually meet everyone on the island. My favorite part of the CIA website is just how first of all, there is so much information that you can learn that you never knew of. Most of the information that is on the website, I never thought would even be recorded. But also when you look at some statistics, you can click on a link and it will compare that countrie

Going over test

Today in class we went over the test and I didn't do that well on it. I even studied for a couple of hours over two nights. I thought I was going to do pretty well, but I knew I wasn't going to ace it. I ended up doing way worse than I expected. When we went over it, there was a few questions that I got wrong and when you explained them I got it and I knew what I did wrong. But then there is still a few questions that I just don't understand even after the whole debate we had during class. Mostly questions 14-20 I just don't understand how some of them are and aren't relative or absolute.

Soccer game

I was absent last class due to my soccer game. I didn't post till today because my internet was broken and I got my dad to fix it lest night when e got home.

Timezone

Time zone- Region of earth that observes a uniform standard time for legal and social purposes. UCT- Coordinate universal time GMT- Greenwich Mean Time Those two are different time zones than we have here in Harford County. In Greenwich time in could be in the afternoon when we are at night and some other places are different times than that. Daylight saving time is when the time changes due to when the sun comes up either earlier or later in the morning. And if it goes down later or earlier at night. So everyone has to change the times on their clock.
